What challenges and opportunities will arise for Canada’s place in the world and government’s abilities to serve and connect with Canadians? At the global level, post-WWII international institutions are experiencing strain at the same time that there are obvious needs for coordinated action on global problems such as climate change. At the national level, the integrity of the democratic process is at stake amid concerns about foreign manipulation and fracturing of public opinion. Our laws are being called upon to respond to new technologies, economic, and social realities. These changes also present opportunities to update the way regulation works, and how government operates.
